Resilience comes in waves

Groundswell Community Project isn’t just about teaching people to surf; it’s about reclaiming power. They provide research-backed surf therapy specifically for women and non-binary individuals navigating trauma. My job was to translate that deep sense of safety and community into their year-end fundraising. Instead of a generic plea for funds, I wrote a six-week narrative series that invited donors to be part of the healing process. The result? A 36.7% open rate and over $26,000 raised to support their future programs.
